Car crashes are the #1 cause of death among teenagers--- DCH Auto Group's new and used car dealerships in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and California are working to change that.
DCH Auto Group's dealerships are committed to protecting young drivers. DCH Teen Safe Driving Program is a DCH exclusive, long term, teen-focused, driving-safety community outreach program and marketing campaign to keep, what we call "it"-asin, mindless driving-out of our teenagers' cars. This means not driving distracted, driving recklessly, or driving under the influence, to name a few. DCH Auto Group believes in doing more than selling new and pre-owned cars, and we've made this program a priority.

The goal of DCH's Teen Safe Driving Program is to raise awareness through education, action, and advocacy. Individual programs sponsored by DCH Lexus of Oxnard are designed to raise awareness in our community. Our goal is to educate teens about smart decisions and safe driving and provide parents with the tools they need to set the standards with their teenage drivers.
The cornerstone of our program is our affiliation with Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). DCH Auto Group is the exclusive automotive dealer sponsor of SADD in New Jersey, southern New York, Fairfield, Connecticut, and southern California, and has agreed to help launch SADD chapters in local area schools. Our goal is to help these schools develop successful, sustainable chapters, and to raise awareness about important behavioral decisions when behind the wheel of a car. Through this agreement, DCH Auto Group provides both financial support and support from its employees.
Schools can always opt to establish a SADD chapter without formal corporate help or sponsorship. SADD simply requires that the school register their chapter with the SADD national office. Registration provides access to the SADD network but the chapter's progress is self-guided. Our program is different because the goal is to give schools the tools necessary to establish successful and sustainable chapters.
Through our involvements with organizations such as SADD, National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), and the National Safety Council on Teen Driving, DCH employees work with students to raise awareness among their peers about the need to make smart decisions. In working with these organizations, we focus on distracted driving, the importance of the graduated driver license, and the significance of parents playing an active part in their child's driver education. DCH Lexus of Oxnard sponsors events, activities and opportunities for learning with the ultimate goal of reducing crash related tragedies.

Parents are the Key
Parents play an important role in their child's driving education, but where does a parent begin. Start with the Parent/Teen driving contract.
GDL laws are aimed at reducing the amount of teen auto injuries and fatalities as statistics show that drivers between the ages of 15 and 19 experience a very high number of collisions.
GDL programs are an effective method for reducing the crash risk of new teen drivers. GDL ‘s are designed to phase young novice drivers into full driving privileges gradually over time so they gain behind-the-wheel experience and develop driving skills in lower-risk conditions.
