| Countywide Speed Networking Event July 26th In partnership with our local Chambers' of Commerce Young Professionals Groups, we hosted an evening mixer for Ventura County's entreprenuers and business leaders. Set to a 'tempo vivace', community members gained insight from some of the county's most successful, swapped business cards and vital stats, and forged connections for future business partnerships. ![]() | SADD National Conference 2012 June 24th-27th As advocates of our local student chapters, we attended the Students Against Destructive Decisions National Conference alongside approximately 500 students from around the country as they celebrated the past year's accomplishments for safe driving, standing up against bullying, smoking, drug and alcohol use and honed their skills for the year ahead. The days were filled with inspirational speakers, empowering workshops, and powerful connections, generating momentum for the students and community leaders to take back and share with their hometowns throughout the country. DCH Lexus of Oxnard Teen Safe Driving Scholarship Presentations & Award Ceremony
Throughout the month of May, DCH Lexus of Oxnard travelled around Ventura County to Oxnard and Camarillo High Schools to acknowledge this year's DCH Lexus of Oxnard 2012 Teen Safe Driving Scholarship recipients for their efforts to promote good decisions behind the wheel among their peers. This year's winners created compelling public service announcements in audio and video format, designed to convince even their hardest-to-reach peers to drive responsibly. Submissions from our finalists and runners-up can be found in our Winners Showcase on our dedicated Teen Safe Driving Page. The recognition for these college-bound high school seniors culminated in an award ceremony held at our dealership, in which General Manager George Yazbek and Oxnard Union High School District officials took turns praising the students, explaining the importance of their contributions, and presenting them with their awards and gift bags. Teen Safe Driving Car Wash/Carnival/Bake Sale Fundraiser In honor of National Youth Traffic Safety Month, we hosted a car wash, mini-carnival & bake sale run by Camarillo and Pacifica CHOICES Clubs, our sponsored Students Against Destructive Decisions chapters. The students ran a variety of fun, educational games designed to help families turn their young (or soon-to-be) drivers into safe ones. All proceeds from the event will go toward helping chapter members with future intiatives to promote good decisions behind the wheel, including sending nominees to their 2012 SADD National Conference this June. | Red Ribbon Week at Camarillo High School (10/28) On your marks, get set, buckle! The school's CHOICES club (a chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions sponsored by DCH Lexus of Oxnard) hosted a lunchtime 'Click-It' Race, inviting peers to compete for prizes by running around two of our RX's and then (cued by music) jumping in and buckling their seatbelts before an opposing team. This activity is one way CHOICES promotes good decisions behind the wheel. |
| 18th Annual Santa Barbara Golf Invitational (10/17) We're proud to support this "perennial favorite among area golf enthusiasts, business leaders, and philanthropists," benefiting the Music Academy of the West's Full Scholarship Fund, which enables talented musicians to enroll in the academy each year regardless of ability to pay. |
| DCH Oxnard Blood Drive (08/15) According to the Red Cross, one pint of blood can save up to 3 lives. With the support of Team DCH employees, we potentially saved almost 100 in just a period of hours! Several employees at Lexus carried on their day at our dealership proudly wearing their red bandages. |

| Lexus Champions for Charity: 28th Annual Boys and Girls Club of Ventura Golf Classic (08/08) We're proud to have sponsored this event for another year, providing one of our GX460s as a hole-in-one prize to entice the community to give back to a local organization that keeps youth on the right track; the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura boasts a 97% High School Graduation Rate; 82.7% Improved Family Relations; 91.8% Improved Self Confidence; and 0% Teen Pregnancies! |
CPR -- GO KART RACING NIGHT (Benefittng Camarillo, Pacifica & Rio Mesa & Royal High Schools) This year's multi-school event was held at MB2 Raceway, providing a safe environment to speed behind the wheel. Complimented by raffles, music and responsible driving information, the event was attended by community members of all ages. All proceeds went to local Student Against Destructive Decisions Chapters to further their educational programming. |

Green Car Show (04/16 & 04/17) Our two CT Hybrids stood out at the event, challenging the typical hybrid image with their sleek yet powerful styling and handling-capability, a driver centric dash, and the overall signature Lexus feel. Green through and through--- made from sustainable materials and boasting 43 mpg city, 40 highway and 42 combined (though one of our drivers implemented good driving practices to test these numbers out and ended up with 52 mpg!)--they attracted interested event-goers of all ages (and even some tasteful four-legged ones). St. Patty's Day "Get Your Green On" CT 200h Launch Party (03/17) Young Professionals from the Ventura Chamber of Commerce joined us in welcoming our newest addition: the CT Hybrid. Our most affordable vehicle yet, with a sleek yet powerful physique and a combined average 42 mpg that runs on Regular gas, the CT took center stage at the evening's affair,catered by Jonathan's at Pierano's Restaurant, set to Irish music, and complimented with a dance performance and raffle prizes including complimentary vehicle detailings, custom-made organic cotton t-shirts and reusable, BPA-free Lexus tumblers...to view a photo album of the evening, click here.

Movie Night: "Throwback Theatre" to benefit local Students Against Destructive Decisions Chapters (03/12) Team DCH hosted a screening of 10 Things I Hate About You, a modern rendition of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, under the stars at DCH Honda of Oxnard. With a dmission and concessions available for $1 each (and popcorn free), attendees noshed and enjoyed the film either from a front row seat or from their cars, drive-in style. All proceeds will be divided among area SADD Chapters to offset student expenses for the National SADD Conference held in June. Pictures can be found here. |
Luis Vazquez Memorial Scholarship Car Wash and Bake Sale (02/27) The DCH's of Oxnard and sister SADD chapters of Camarillo and Rio Mesa High Schools teamed up to support the Pacifica SADD Chapter in its efforts to create a scholarship that will carry on Luis' memory by enabling another student to actively participate in chapter events. Ramona School Self-Esteem Booster (02/02) On behalf of DCH Auto Group, we had the privilege to assist Right Road Kids' founder, Paula Phillips, as she empowered 4th graders at Ramona School to recognize the importance of recognizing self-worth and the worth in others through interactive lessons, games, and song. |
Right Road Kids Charity Toy Drive (12/16) The DCH AUTO GROUP of Oxnard and Simi Valley teamed up with Camarillo High School and the non-profit, Right Road Kids, in an effort to bring 600 toys to less fortunate kids for the holidays.Thanks to generous community support, we exceeded our goal and were able to donate the extra gifts to families in need. Santa to The Sea Half Marathon Toy Drive (12/12) To see a huge turnout from across the western coast before 8 o'clock on a Sunday morning seemed a small Christmas miracle in itself! With SADD chapter members from Rio Mesa, Camarillo and Pacifica High Schools acting as Santa's Helpers, the race commenced without hitch (or flying reindeer) in true festive spirit. Ventura County Rescue Mission Feeding the Homeless (12/03) Prepping and plating, and pumping up the crew with holiday tunes, we were humbled and inspired by the community's homeless.
